What is a home inspection?
A home inspection is an objective visual assessment of the physical structure and systems of a home, everything from roof to foundation. A Home Inspector typically spends roughly between 2 to 3 hours evaluating a home, and further assessment may be recommended if problems or symptoms are discovered.
Can't I do my Home Inspection myself?
Even the most experienced homeowner lacks the knowledge and expertise of a certified professional home inspector. A professional home inspector has the training, experience, skills, and depth of knowledge to make an unbiased and informed report of the condition of a property. A Certified Home Inspector is knowledgeable about the many elements of home construction, their proper installation and maintenance. He/she understands how the home’s systems and components are intended to function together, plus how and why they may fail. Good news is that many inspectors, themselves, have construction background and they have performed many building renovations, home remodeling and repair, so they know how a quality finished work looks like, simply by looking at it. A Professional Home Inspector knows what to look for and uniquely interpret the findings about the condition and history of a property.
